About Geri Perkal

Geri Perkal is an independent educational consultant providing guidance, support, and assistance throughout the entire college admission process.  Geri's expertise and passion for education leads parents and students to a broader awareness of academic possibilities and the reassurance of a well-chosen college.  She is committed to recommending colleges and universities most aligned with a student's aspirations, personality, abilities, and needs.

Geri holds an M.A. in Education from New York University and B.S. in Education from Syracuse University with certificates in College Counseling, Elementary Education, and Special Education. She has led successful campaigns for, and is actively involved with, educational advancements in her community. As president of Pascack Hills Parent Faculty Association in northern New Jersey, she effected novel policy changes resulting in improved marketability of high school students. She regularly attends workshops and seminars relating to the most recent academic developments and requirements and is a member of the following professional organizations:

Geri Perkal is a contributor to the definitive college guide, The College Finder: Choose the School That’s Right for You!, serves on The University of Arizona's Counselor Advisory Board, and is an active member of associations.

About Kate Balboni, MA

Kate Balboni attended the College of Saint Elizabeth, earning a BA in Psychology and then her Master’s in School Counseling at the University of Saint Joseph. She is a certified New Jersey School Counselor and has also had experience as a writing tutor. Since graduating she has served as an admissions counselor for Drew University and as a regional admissions coordinator at the University of South Carolina. During her time in Undergraduate Admissions she has reviewed thousands of applications and student essays, conducted hundreds of student interviews, and has visited over 50 college campuses throughout the nation.
